Outreach Update - The Well is Putting our Faith into Action
Thank you all for your hearts of Christ and the generosity that The Well Church congregation has shared. We have begun reaching out to families in need as Christ has called us to do. In the parable we have recently studied in Matthew 25:31-46, Christ tells us that if we are His disciples, then we are to:
- Feed the Hungry
- Give water to the Thirsty
- Welcome the Outcasts
- Clothe the Needy
- Care for the Sick
- Visit the Captives
This week we helped a single mother who is going through a challenging time. We helped her with her rent for this month and next and provided gift cards for groceries and Christmas gifts for her beautiful three year old daughter. Cindy and I met with this sweet lady, her daughter, her dad who came in from Chicago and her grandmother. Cindy and I could see the relief on her face when she received the help from The Well Church of Lewisville. This family prayed for our church and thanked the Lord with such cries of thankfulness right in the middle of a crowded Starbucks. She said, "This is the work of the Holy Spirit! He heard my prayers". Thank you all! I wish you could have been with us when we saw such joy!
We will also be assisting a school counselor, in the McKinney ISD, who has several children in need of shoes and other necessities. Sandra Scholten is coordinating this effort. If anyone would like to provide further assistance, please contract Sandra, Cindy, or Pastor Tim.
There is another family in need that we will be providing Christmas dinner for. This is a family that Roxanne Baker has brought to our attention. They love the Lord and have done so much for others, yet they barely have enough money to get by. We will be coordinating this effort with Roxanne.
We are also looking into funding water wells to be built in India through World Vision. We have not made any final decisions on this, but stay tuned. The Well may be purchasing a well that will provide clean water for many families for years to come in a foreign country.
We are so thankful for how the Lord has used our church to bless so many. This is the vision that we received when we started The Well. And because of your desire to respond to God's call, we are able to do these things and many more to come.
James, the Apostle and brother of Jesus writes in his letter...
"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds?" (James 2:14, NIV).
You are all showing your faith through the generous compassion for your fellow brothers and sisters. You are the salt and light of the earth.
Wellsters - Kid's Ministry Update
Laura and Dallas recently hosted a parents night out. The kids had a great time making snowmen with marshmallows, playing games and doing crafts. Thank you Laura and Dallas for hosting this event!
Marriage On The Rock - Teaching Series - Starting soon.
We are planning to start a series by Jimmy Evans titled Marriage On The Rock. This teaching series will be held on Saturday's. We have not yet set a start date, but are currently seeking those who are interested in participating in this powerful marriage enrichment program. We will probably start this series in January.
A few Sundays ago, Hugh and Kimberly Gall gave their testimony of how this program has helped them and many other couples come back into a strong marriage that is centered on Jesus Christ. Whether you are married, in a relationship, thinking about marriage, in a good marriage, or a struggling marriage, this program will be good for you.
A quick synopsis:
Marriage On The Rock clearly details God's principles that will turn disillusioned, divorce-bound marriages into satisfying dream relations.
Marriage On The Rock will show you:
- Why no human being can meet your deepest needs
- The secret of a solid marriage
- The four foundational laws of marriage
- What the Bible says about the roles of husbands and wives
- How to understand and meet your spouse's needs
- The five essential skills for maximum pleasure
Please prayerfully consider going through this program. You will not be disappointed!
Multiplying The Well
The Well Church of Lewisville is based on a multiplication strategy, as demonstrated with the first church in the book of Acts. Our goal is to create a network of "cell churches" throughout the metroplex and beyond. We are currently looking for those called into ministry to be part of this exciting opportunity. If you, or anyone you know, has a calling to lead a small ministry and are looking for a place to serve, please contact Pastor Tim or Pastor Josh.
Please continue to pray for Kimberly and Hugh Gall as they are considering starting a Cell Church in their home and will be part of The Well.
Please Consider How You Can Help
At The Well Church of Lewisville, one of our primary objectives is to feed and clothe those in need, to take care of the orphans and widows, and to show the love of Christ to a fallen world. To accomplish this, it takes everyone of us! We are asking each of you to prayerfully ask the Lord how you might help us reach the lost, the hurting, and those in need. With that said, please consider a monetary gift to our ministry. 100% of what we receive will be used to help those in need through missions support, outreach and disaster relief. If you would like to see how our funds have been used, please contact Pastor Tim and he will gladly share a copy of our financial report.
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We look forward to seeing you all this coming Sunday!
